High Power Optical Fiber Cables

SQS high-power optical connectors are designed for maximum performance and reliability in demanding laser applications. Featuring a copper ferrule, these connectors ensure efficient heat dissipation, preventing thermal damage during operation.

At the front of the ferrule, the fiber is placed in free space within a precisely engineered cavity. This design, combined with adhesive application at the rear of the connector, significantly reduces the risk of damage from imperfectly coupled laser radiation.

Mode-Stripping for Enhanced Performance

By utilizing a special epoxy, unwanted cladding radiation (mode-stripping) is effectively eliminated. Excess heat is dissipated through a passive heat sink, further improving the connector’s durability and performance.

End-Cap Solution for High-Power Applications

For applications where the fiber core diameter is insufficient for the required optical power, SQS offers a connector variant with an end-cap. This solution expands the laser beam diameter, reducing power density at the fiber-air interface. The interface can also be enhanced with an anti-reflection coating (ARC) to minimize optical losses.
