Linear Fiber Optic Bundles

Linear-to-linear straight fiber bundles are ideal for applications requiring precise fiber mapping and high coupling efficiency into devices with entrance slits, such as spectrometers. We offer FC/PC, SMA905, or custom ferrules—metal or glass—manufactured directly at SQS, as well as glass fiber arrays (FAU). For FC connectors, customers can specify the orientation of the linear structure relative to the connector key.

Fibers are arranged in one or multiple rows within a slit: up to 900 µm for FC and 1.6 mm for SMA905. Core sizes range from 50 µm to 1000 µm, with guaranteed mapping and lengths per customer specification. Bundles can include multimode fibers (Low OH, High OH), solarization-resistant fibers for UV, and options for vacuum or extreme temperatures. Mechanical protection is provided by stainless steel tubing or PVC jackets, and end faces can be ARC-coated to minimize back reflections.
