High-precision custom fiber array units (FAUs) terminated with UHNA (Ultra-High Numerical Aperture) fibers optimize light transfer between SM/PM fibers and smaller waveguides in PICs.
Customers can define fiber dimensions and pitch, number of channels, end-face polishing angle, type of SM/PM and UHNA fiber, as well as the required connector type. FAUs can be supplied with various connectors such as MMC, MMC jr., MTP, LC, and others.
Available UHNA fibers
- UHNA1: 1100–1600 nm, NA=0.28, MFD=4.0 µm @1310 nm (4.8 µm @1550 nm)
- UHNA3: 960–1600 nm, NA=0.35, MFD=3.3 µm @1310 nm (4.1 µm @1550 nm)
- UHNA4: 1100–1600 nm, NA=0.35, MFD=3.3 µm @1310 nm (4.0 µm @1550 nm)
- UHNA7: 1500–2000 nm, NA=0.41, MFD=3.2 µm @1550 nm
